What they say: Born, as all good things are, out of a conversation over Mexican food and Pacifico beers, The Ride is an all-encompassing read that was started in 2008.
The idea was to create a journal filled with personal stories. We know that most people who share our obsession with bikes don’t want to be pigeon-holed as roadies, freeriders, track racers, BMXers, XC riders or even commuters. They are just riders. So we wanted to create something for them, and also for us. Something that crosses both cycling and international borders. Bikes have changed people’s lives in so many ways and we wanted to gather a small selection of these tales.
What we say: There's nothing quite like kicking back with some soppressata, local cheese, tea, and the latest issue of The Ride Cycling Journal. Even we must admit that you can't be out riding one of your many bikes 24/7. That's where The Ride comes in. Full of brief, one and two page stories, The Ride digs into the essence of cycling. Think of them as short homilies, inspirational pieces keeping you connected to the Earth through two wheels.
For those blustery and arctic winter days, those rainy, chill you to your bones days, or those days you just have too much to do around the house, The Ride is an intellectual balm for your cycling soul. An easy, painless fix for missing a bicycle underneath you, and an inspiration to get you back out as soon as possible.
