the Great Bike Trail Scavenger Hunt

 The Great Bike Trail Scavenger Hunt is a new event that we will launching this coming summer with our friends over at River's Edge Cycling!

Get ready for a family-friendly bicycling event that will focus heavily on the rail trail system that runs throughout Northampton and into the neighboring communities of  Hadley and Easthampton. Participant will get an event “passport” with a list of places/things/historical locations/businesses that they will need to visit. At each location, they will record their visit with their phone camera or a site host will stamp their passport to document their stop.

When participants have visited as many locations as they can in the allotted time, they will return to the start  in downtown Northampton to share their success. Prizes will be awarded in various categories to celebrate the participants’ efforts. Participants will also enjoy a catered farm-fresh lunch and children’s activities at the event site. In addition, there will be a raffle for all participants who visited a minimum number of scavenger stops.

All profits from the event will be split between two local non-profit organizations working to strengthen our communities: the Friends of Northampton Trails and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County.
